Windows 7 OEM Disc Confusion

Short story - Trying to buy version of Windows 7 to put on new built computer {doesn't have Windows on it so can't upgrade obviously}. On Amazon, people have the Dell Windows 7 Re-installation DVD for sale advertising that it will work with any brand or non-brand computer, even though the disc clearly state on the label that they're only for Dell computers and I was under the impression that the disc only worked with certain hardware anyhow.

The point is that I have one of these disc available, for free, just in a different state; if i get it sent to me will it work or should i just fork out the cash and buy the Windows 7 64Bit Professional full version from Tigerdirect that's on sale today for $109.99?

I only saw a $119 version of Win 7 Pro and it's OEM, clearly 1 license, on Tigerdirect. Did I miss something? If you can get a full version of W7 Pro for $109, get it!

Yeah oops that's my bad I hadn't looked at Tigerdirect since earlier today, you are correct DelroyMonjo, that's the deal I was talking about. So what's the difference b/w that OEM and the Dell reinstallation DVD that people claim to load windows 7 onto any computer?

the reinstallation is to put back a system but you need to have one before doing this so go tiger for a full one
