Probably not. Whatever old motherboard is still configured in the registry of that Windows install. It might not boot, it might blue screen or it might seem to work normally. There is no way to predict. Most likely it won't boot.
this is the most often posted and by far the most irritating question on this forumn.a simple forumn search would have given you countless answers to this by now pointless question.
So my only solution would be getting w10 to avoid any kind of issue? And thanks to all who took their time to answer.
It's a case of needing a clean install, no matter which OS it is.
Win 10 is marginally better at seeing new hardware, but the above 3 conditions still apply.
One last thing: do i need to do the clean install with the new motherboard or can i just install it on the ssb with my current am3+ pc and then plug the ssd on the am4 motherboard?

The clean install must be done on the new motherboard. You should also have only the C: drive connected when you do the install.
