[SOLVED] Windows 7 on SSD; HDD as a storage

Hello, I have silly question I think...
I bought SSD so I'm newbie with it, and I use HDD as a storage for files, music, pictures.

Question Is: When I open some word file(which is on SSD), or for example "Control Panel" HDD turns on(starts spinning).
This is ok ? Because why HDD turns on, if I don't open any files with have any connection to that HDD?

Yes it's normal, all drives will spin up incase you want to save or open a file from it.

Interesting, thank you for your answer, I was thinking that this might be a bad thing.

No problem. Yeah the platters spin up and the head gets into position, if it didn't do that the hdd performance would be quite bad
