Windows 7 or 8?

Getting ready to purchase parts for a new gaming rig, planning on throwing windows 7 on it, is anyone running 8 on a gaming rig? I've heard it's more for interface fanciness and not so great for gaming...

My opinion is buy windows 8 because no need to upgrade .then already annonced win7 has only one service pack.windows8 get update for many years then windows7 .
