Windows 7 PC connectivity problems

Hi I have been having a lot of problems with my internet on my PC I was using a Net Gear wireless USB and losing connection all of the time so I switched to a wired Ethernet connection to see if that solved the problem but I still have the problem. Every so often could be every 10 minutes or every few hours changes all of the time my internet is losing connection and goes to No Network Access ! The router is still on working fine and my iPad is still working fine so it is not the router. I troubleshoot the problem and always get a different error fix including - The default gateway is not available , Reset router etc. I have done everything and it is still happening. Can anyone help me or tell me what the problem may be and how I can fix the problem ? Thanks.

Check for updated firmware for the router and updated drivers from the vendor of the PC for the network cards.
