Question Windows 7 PC freeze randomly when idle

Power supplies can fail. Since you experience the freezes while down loading big files and watching movies, it could be when the PSU is being taxed, it starts to fail. I will try to clean install my video drivers first. If the PSU really failed, what is the possible solution? Do I need to change the PSU? Since I am not good with handling computer's hardware I don't think it is possible for me.

This happens only when the PC is idling? If so, i would check power options, try set sleep, hibernation, turn of hard disk to "never".
Yes it only happens when idling. When I am playing games, etc. it never freeze. I have set the sleep, etc. to never but the problem still exists.
