Windows 7 problems forum old cd

Hello, most of my old CDs wont play now, after I installed Win 7.
Lots of CD/DVDs are also wasted while writing.
What to do?

Have you tried testing with an external CD/DVD drive to see if the hardware is damaged?

Try updating your mobo's chipset drivers.
At the mobo's website or if it's Intel at their site.

Also your OD's firmware is probably outdated.
