okay here is my problem.
I have a good extra copy of windows 7 ultimate
my friend has an old pc core 2 duo 2gb ram and I am giving it to him
I already know he can run win 7 because he was running it before(but due to some problems he wants my extra copy installed)
since his motherboard is also really old I said I'll bring his hard drive home hook it up to my pc(a more modern one built 2013) and install windows.
so I did and gave him the hard drive he went home and hooked it up but it won't work, it boots, goes past the loading windows screen but the welcome screen won't show instead a blue screen with some text shows up for about 5 milliseconds(serious) so we can't read that, then his computer restarts and does to "launch start up repair or launch windows normally screen" start up repair wont help, system restore won't help.
BUT when i came home and hooked up the same hard drive into MY pc IT WORKED it even said system restore successful the moment i came to my desktop..... please help I'm pretty good with modern computers but this is simply weird :??:

Solution
[strike]enter his bios or if it gives option go directly to boot order and put dvd drive as 1st[/strike]
if you want to do it with usb stick you will have to make usb hdd boot before your harddrive (again from bios)

edit: didnt see you already made it 1st boot device from bios. I doubt its the motherboard. Anyways im working with computers that are 15 years old sometimes and they boot just fine from dvd. try with the usb stick, there might be problem with the dvd device

Thats natural. Windows 7 scans your system upon install and applys the correct basic drivers for YOUR computer. What you can try is to use the cd to try repair the windows (when hdd is connected to your friend`s pc) and if still not work then install it again, this time on his pc and not yours
