First off thank you for your time and reading this post.

My computer is:

HP elite 8200
Windows 7 pro / Linux mint
intel i7 2600 (3.4 ghz)
32 gigs kingston ram
Power Color ATI radeon 7750
500 gig wdc blue / 80 gig refurbished HD

Years ago I bought A fresco logic pci to usb 3.0 card (http://www.frescologic.com/products_show.php?ms=2&ps=1) to upgrade the usb speed of an older pc. This older pc had Tiny 7 (windows 7, had a license) and Ubuntu installed. The card worked great in both operating systems.

Now I have a newer P.C. with full windows 7 pro 64 bit on the 500 gig HD, and Linux mint installed on the 80 gig HD. In Linux mint the device is seen and works great, in Windows 7 not so much. I have tried installing several drivers from fresco logic for the device and still no dice, keeps opening a window saying "there is no fresco logic usb 3.0 controller found". Windows 7 assigns the wrong device ID to the card, and installs a matrox pci to pci bridge driver.

In device manager I have used several options like, disabling the device, uninstalling the device, deleting the driver, selecting a driver from a list (fresco logic is not listed), searching computer and a specific folder for the driver, etc. Another problem is that when I delete the driver windows assigns, I actually also have that device, so it will cause boot issues. I have another thread I created about this issue but I can not login to that forum anymore due to issues with security on that account (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/fresco-logic-usb-30-pci-card-not-working/392b091e-cf24-4969-910f-3a98c6cc3da4)

Any help is appreciated and thank you for you time.

Have you tried any or all of these drivers? You might need to boot into Linux and note the hardware ID string and then go here, or another driver provider site, and match the hardware string id to the correct driver, and then go back into windows and try it.

I have the right driver, only it will not install because windows 7 does not report the device correctly, so when installing the driver software it cannot see the device because windows is reporting it as a matrox pci to pci bridge. I have tried all those drivers. Also I get 404 error on the driver download page.

Then there are other issues going on with your OS, because I can go to the linked page with two different browsers on three different devices, desktop, laptop and tablet, just fine. If you can't access the page, how in the world could you possibly have tried all those drivers? You don't even know what drivers are there if you can't access the page.

I'd suggest possibly going into device manager, right clicking on the "matrox pci to pci bridge", selecting Uninstall and then making sure the uninstall device driver checkbox is checked in the confirmation window. Then reboot and try to install your drivers. I can't see any reason it would have worked in your Tiny 7 version and not in the full Windows 7 version unless perhaps that was 32 bit or if something windows has updated in your current version is conflicting with address assignment in the drivers you're trying to use. Kinda goofy, but not the strangest thing I've seen. I'd say maybe the hardware has an issue but since you say it works fine in Linux, that can't be the problem.

Because There are other places to get the drivers, and I do think it is a problem with the OS. There may be a conflict in the software with other devices, not only that but fresco Logic dropped support for this card, it is the first one (fl1000g). It is the one with the old PCI slot to one usb 3.0. I tried installing the .inf file but it says that it is not able to support that method of installing. I have also tried the method in device manager, this causes problems with booting.
