I just upgraded to Windows 7- I need a higer resolution for my 18" notebook... everything is tooo BIG! The highest resolution offered isn't enough... are there any fixes or updates froom Microsoft?

OK... Thank you! I went to the Sony Site and downloaded every driver that I could for the AW with Windows 7 that looked to have something to do with Media or settings... there were dozens. And, walla!! I now have a bit higher resolution at 1920X1080! But, I still would like 1920X1200 as I was knda used to it with Vista. Interesting that's the only thing I really liked about Vista come to think of it was they display. Does anybody know which setting matches the "Windows Vista Basic" with the black borders? I've tried to set Black in Win 7 borders but it reverts to silver grey, which is nice too.. but we'll see. Any thoughts on getting to 1920X1200?

I dont think laptop screens support that resolution, even an 18". Google your laptop model and see what resolution it is.

I have that on my Sony AR with Vista... it's quite sharp. Actually, I playedm around with the Win 7 backround theme (Blue) for awhile and it looks great now... I have a silver opaque border and window set up... so finally, Win 7 is looking great. I love it's simplicity... not too sure I like the 'minimalist' now playing feature on the Medial Player. Can you shut that off to have the now playing show everything in que as well?

I would recommend getting your video drivers directly from the chip manufacturer, i.e., Nvidia, ATI, or Intel. The notebook manufacturer rarely has the latest driver.
