Windows 7 slow startup after crossfire

I've been having longer then normal windows load time after getting my second 6950 in my comp. I noticed that it starts up then goes into black screen with cursor then takes another 5 seconds to completely load into windows. Im thinking its something to do with adding another video card as i haven't experienced this before adding it.

My Windows is installed on my Intel 320 80 GB SSD. Game performance stays the same. just the load up time for windows has slowed down a lot and there's always a black screen with the cursor before it fully loads in now. I have the latest CAT

This is more of a systems question I think,

Try removing the card and seeing if that is the cause. Otherwise complete driver updates, windows updates, and all optional updates.

The only dirt I could find on crossfire giving extra load times was with Skrym.

you mean removing the 2nd 6950 i just added ?? my drivers and windows update are all up to date. i guess ill try the only other option available. its pretty annoying now that i have to wait a extra 10+ seconds to load into windows 😡

Do you have a standard hdd hooked up to the rig?

yes i have a intel SSD and a 250GB Seagate hardrive @ 7200 RPM windows is on the 80GB intel ssd and i didn't have this problem before

Interesting, I saw the same type of increased W7 boot time when I installed the 2nd 4870.

It's not that much, I mean I went from a boot time of like < 15 seconds (including full BIOS enumeration) to maybe around 25-30 seconds, with most of the increased wait time being a slower W7 logo startup & the same cursor + black screen wait.

Games, file copy & even SSD benchmarks remained the SAME, just boot is a bit longer. I didn't bother looking into it seeing as everything else was exactly the same.

Like you said everything is the same except for the boot time. I just wanna know whats causing this and if there is something i can do to get rid of this problem

Could be a number of things if you haven't tried removing the video card as I previously stated..

Without knowing if it's the video card for sure it could be:

Virus or Malware...
OS files transferred onto standard HDD or important application installed on standard Hdd - (allways running - drivers)
Faulty Ram...
Outdated Bios..

The list goes on..
