Windows 7 sometimes gets past loading Windows screen w/ logo

THIS IS NOT A DUPLICATE QUESTION. My computer roughly has a 35% chance of failing the boot at the loading Windows screen with the windows logo. It has a 65% chance of successfully booting. I use an SSD, and should also mention that I reinstalled (by disk) Windows 7 in a futile attempt to fix it.

So you reinstalled Windows and it fails at the start? What is the error that you are receiving at the start? Normally, there will either be a black and a white screen stating Windows couldn't start with an error code OR you could see an blue screen with an error code(depending on if you have it not set to automatically reset when that happens). If you still have that Windows 7 CD, then I would try running a repair on it and see if that can resolve it for you. If not boot into the CD's command prompt then type in "bootrec.exe /fixboot" then "bootrec.exe /fixmbr". That will try to repair your master boot record. If that doesn't fix it, then you may be looking at a bad stick of RAM(And yes I say ram because i see this all the time) or maybe a failing hard drive.

However, the animated logo does not appear. It freezes. I am yet to test the RAM and memory, and I said that I reset Windows to FIX the problem, but it consisted, so I assume it must be a hardware problem. When it does fail and freeze, I have to hard-shutdown it, and then if it boots successfully, I will get the black-and-White-text screen saying it did not boot successfully, would I like to run the startup repair or boot normally. When I select the startup repair it always to to restore from a previous backup. I don't have one. Remember, this only happens SOMETIMES.

Have you tried booting into safe mode? and if so do you get the same result? I would suspect a failing hard drive or a bad memory stick. Are your graphics card drivers up to date?

I would start by trying safe mode, and then if it works I would assume it is driver related, Otherwise you could always remove your graphics card and use onboard display and see if the problem persists, or uninstall the driver you currently have and use the standard vga graphics driver.. I bet it is either a ram stick or the hard drive though, I would test the hard drive first using Western digital data lifeguard diagnostics and then test the ram with Memtest86

You did not list your hardware configuration...do this NOW.

Your drive boot sector is corrupted OR the hard drive is corrupted....or you have a defect motherboard.

Are you using an Asus board?
You may have just answered your own question...
