Windows 7 starts up then freezes when application is launched.

Using windows 7, machine starts fine then freezes when I try to launch an application.

Does this happen with any application you launch or a specific application?

Boot into safe mode and launch an application or two. See if windows freezes. Also you could run memtest and test your RAM modules.
