windows 7 to vista file sharing

Hi I have recently set up a lan connection between two computers one with windows 7 and one with vista they can connect to each other in games and show up on each others network places. While using vista computer I can access and copy over files from the windows 7 computer while on the windows 7 computer i seem to be able to copy files from the public folder section but I cant place anything in there I get the error "destination folder access denied. you need permission to perform this action" I also tried to turn the vista computers whole program files folder to shared but I get the message "windows cannot access \\USER-PC\Program files. You do not have permission to access \\USER-PC\programe files contact your network administrator to request access. its quite an annoying problem as everything else seems to connect so well. If anyone has encountered this before, or know what to do, I would greatly appreciate there help

Hi sorry I fixed the problem of copying files to the vista computers public folder myself I had accidentally switched off sharing so anyone with network access read and write files in public folders option. But I still can't share any folder I want.
