Question Windows 7 to Windows 10 Upgrade not working with "windows 10 installation has failed"

No error code, screen transitions into installation page, percentage goes to i think 100% before it stops with error message "windows 10 installation has failed". Updated windows and still didnt work

Yes, sometimes an inplace upgrade fails.

Generally, the way forward is a fresh OS install of the new version.


Possibly this is a failing HDD/SSD?

Try uninstalling antivirus.
3rd party antivirus software may cause upgrade to fail (like Mcafee antivirus for example).
