Windows 7 to Windows 10

I'm using this old laptop from a few years back, and I'm debating on whether it's safe to upgrade it to Windows 10. The 64 bit laptop is an Acer Aspire 7736Z-4088 with a discontinued Intel driver and some small problems that I believe came from its aging.
Ever since my desktop pretty much stopped working, I've been using this laptop. The laptop makes an extremely loud beeping noise continuously when it's booting up, but it stops after the logo in the boot up appears. It also occasionally freezes up for a few minutes sometimes while I'm doing something, or sits longer in boot up than it usually does which isn't often, but it happens.
Would it be dangerous for me to attempt updating to Windows 10 knowing problems like these happen?
Just making sure before I plug in my flash drive and start setting up for an update.

you need to check for win 10 driver support for the laptop. many of those older laptops do not have win 10 support or only a basic driver for certain features. you are probably giving up some features by upgrading to win 10.

i've done this to many older devices and have seen everything from wifi card issues to no igpu support and anything in between. know what your getting into before pulling the trigger.

i don't think your beeping error issues are OS related so the upgrade is likely not even needed and not worth the trouble. try removing a stick of ram or moving it to the second slot and see if that clears the beeping issue. could also be a failing hdd which is also possible due to the age of the device.
