Windows 7 ultimate system sound

Hello, i installed windows system ultimate but the system sound speaker is inactive. How do I activate it, in order to play audio music?

Have you installed the drivers off the motherboard CD?

Yes give us some more specs about your system, motherboard model, etc. By inactive do you mean that its grayed out? Can you see it in your system tray (lower right side of screen next to your clock) and if you can, is there a red X going through it?
