Hey y'all, I recently built a computer using an Asus M5A 78L-M PLUS motherboard. I have put a Windows 7 iso using Boot Camp on Mac onto both a 2.0 and 3.0 USB. I am able to select both flash drives in the Boot Priority Menu, but neither seem to actually load upon booting the computer. The screen goes black and I am eventually asked to insert boot media. USB Legacy is enabled, and I couldn't find any UEFI or USB Security settings in the boot/bios settings.

Could it be the USB not having the iso properly burned? Or is it likely security settings disabling Windows 7 from launching? Help and suggestions appreciated.

The issue with the system not wanting to boot to the USB wouldn't have anything to do with drivers as OS level drivers aren't even started yet in pre-boot. So the flash drive boots but doesn't function in quite right, that sounds like a netbootin problem.

Netbootin was a poor recommendation I apologize, it's actually more meant for Linux ISOs. Netbootin is the first program I could think of other than rufus (which doesn't work on Mac OSX).

You got as far as booting to the USB drive which is progress. Next we'd need to remake that drive using something like rufus but on OSX. Do you have access to another windows computer you could run rufus on to make this boot drive on? There may also be another OSX program that enables you to do this.
I'd recommend using UNetbootin to create the bootable iso since rufus isn't on OSX. After you are certain the boot USB is set up properly, plug it into the PC you want to install on to and try to boot from it again. Also avoid UEFI boot. Also make sure the USB setting in BIOS is on auto.

Also try it in another computer to see if you can boot from it. If the drive is set up correctly, it should be perfectly bootable. Also just use one flash drive for this installation, preferably the USB3.

I tried using UNetbootin and when I boot the USB with it it goes to a mostly blue screen (says "Default" at the top) where it counts down from 10 infinitely. Is this an issue with drivers?
