I've been debating on staying with Windows 7 or finally upgrading to Windows 10. I don't know what is the better choice, I do a ton of video editing, photoshopping, web surfing & watching youtube videos and playing mid-end to high-end games. What is the better OS for me? Or better OS in general. And what are the advantages and disadvantages of windows 10?

One possible downside to Windows 10 is that you cannot turn off Windows Automatic Updates (at least not without some registry hacking) so I can see that being a pain for those with a slow internet connection.

wish I had thought about that. lol --- but no problems since I upgraded months ago. Windows 10 is great, and I bet Windows 8 users are jumping for joy after using that Fugly OS

If you haven't done it I would recommend that you wait, or don't upgrade at all. I upgraded and about two months after I did, 10 started having these quirky bugs that were more a nuscance than anything, and they also seemed to disappear for reasons I could not determine. Do some google research and you will find plenty of reports of bugs that seem to come out of left field and for no reason.

In my case windows 10 continued to self destruct over months, first I could not delete files out of certain folders, then I kept losing my audio, just a myriad of problems that had no clear cut cause or any apparently known solutions that could be found.

The other down side to windows 10 is that it is continuously spying on you. It is also continuously presenting you with the results of its various inference engines, usually in the form of unwanted ads and news items that it just continuously feeds into your desk top whether you want it or not. It is a huge step toward you losing much privacy and control over how your computer works and what it does. Now your computer works at least part time for Microsoft. In my opinion even if it wasn't full of bugs Microsoft should pay people to use 10 thats how bad it sucks.

I think windows 10 is not good at all. Windows 8.1 is stable for now. I used Windows 8/8.1 and 10 for over 2 months each. I can see that windows 10 is full of errors or bugs. I've been with windows since windows 95. I know how to program things very well.

At this moment, windows 7 is very stable and should be used till Microsoft creates a new windows with less bugs and errors.

While using windows 7 and 8 and above, i saw that from windows 8, Microsoft has integrated a self defragment system which does not let windows get tired. When I use windows 7 for 2-5 hours, I can see it does slow down but once you do the defragment it then gets faster. From windows 8 and above, windows is staying fast all the time.

Windows 8 and above are more for screen touch computers. I see no reason why Microsoft has integrated all the rubbish softwares in the windows. They should build a clean windows that is free from these meaningless interface or the softwares like weather maps etc. Users should be able to install them IF they need them.

As for windows 10, I tried it on my desktop pc and then on my laptop. Both are under 8 months old and can fully support windows 10. For some strange reasons, even with SSD, the system is not as fast as with windows 8.1 or windows 7.

Windows 10 will never be good because microsoft is wrong to think to make one windows for all, tablets, desktop and phones. Wont work.

Right now, windows 7 and 8.1 is the way to stay. If anyone likes to face unknown issues, use windows 10 or 8.

I installed lately 8.1 on my second SSD (finally as a matter of fact i hate that metro [censored]) and i have to say i am surprised when it comes to performance. It might be that my w7 has around 1 year and got crap load of software installed, but yeah i like the way is so slick and responsive (i miss a bit aero but im adapting slowly) I will definitely wait with w10 upgrade till all bugs will disappear, but thats just me :)
let us know did you upgrade to w10 and do you like it.
