Windows 7 vs Windows 8 for Gaming?

Which is the best of the two Windows OS'es listed above for gaming? I've gone through a couple of benchmarks and in some games, there's just no difference at all and some of them show slightly more FPS in Windows 8 (hardly by 1-5). My specs are-
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 -3.00ghz
4gb RAM
Galaxy NVIDIA GT 630 2GB DDR3
DELL P2210 22" monitor (1680x1050)
I know my system is not that great for gaming but which OS will suit me the best?

im not sure but at one point an update of windows 8 gave many gamers problems with their mice but they may have fixed that by now

Believe it or not, Windows 8/8.1 is possibly the best os at the time for gaming, as its going to auto-unpark cpu cores for certain procceses, for example in windows 7 ultimate 64 bit playing battle field 4 with my system specs (see my profile) i had ultra preset and 100% (standard) i got around 55 avg 48 min and 81 maximum frames, where as in windows 8.1 pro i got 73fps avg 59 minimum and 104 max. As for the mouse problems I have been hearing about, never experienced it

I don’t play any of the games on the list on my PC so it would make sense that I have not experienced the issue. I keep my FPS play to the Xbox.
