Windows 7 will not connect with IE (internet explorer)

I just built my computer recently, everything seems to be fine. Except me connecting with the internet. It is as if though the router does not recognise my ethernet.
Already Tried:
I can connect/surf with the other OS (Linus based Express Gate) I installed, so I know the internet connection is working properly, but somehow when I try to use Windows 7 it says "Windows did not detect any networking hardware" I have done the simple crap like unplug router, cmd flush/reset, ipconfig release did not allow, drop firewall, remove addons, change/toggle auto detection. Im guessin it will be simple I just dont know Windows 7 I hope someone can help me thank you.

Hi there, & Welcome to Tom's Hardware!

Without going into a lot of datail right away, Win-7 is pretty network savy.
First thing to do is to open the Network and Sharing Dialog either from the system tray or the control panel,

There it will show you that everything is connected in graphic form, or with a red X where the problem is. You can also click on 'see a full map' and it will go into even more detail.

Then you can click on the Network troubleshooter in the lower middle area and it will run through a series of networking tests, and hopefully get things connected properly.

Also might check in the Device Manager to see if everything is set up properly from the hardware standpoint under Network Adapters. Are you using a NIC built into your MB, or a separate Network Interface Card?

Yes I am using the on board NIC
It is the M4a89gtd if that matters

I should mention though I have tried everything you said already
I am at a point to just go and buy a seperate ethernet card

I wouldn't give up until you identify which component is not working properly. On you Network and Sharing diagram, did it give you a break in communication point?

Lots of folks have trouble initially getting their NIC driver installed from the MB CD-ROM, and download it again from you MB web site.
If the Network Adapter in the Device Manager is OK, then the hardware component is OK, it just needs the driver. Uninstall the driver from the device manager in the NIC properties dialog.

Download and install the latest NIC driver. There are several choices for the Realtek 8111E driver Version 5.764.702/6.239.531 on the ASUS website. If not successful, then in the Device Manager Uninstall the NIC. Reboot and the hardware should be recognized as new hardware and be installed with the correct driver.

Well see thats kind of the problem, how am i to download the driver to begin with if I am unable to get on the internet to do it in the first place?

Use the computer that you're on now and download the drivers to a usb.

Lol well I can not do that because it is just a basic OS system and I am unable to downlaod anything. It is almost like a safe mode option. However with the flash drive I was able to downlaod the recent version then transfer the info to windows 7. I installed it and walla I am now talking to you from windows 7 internet explorer! So thank you everyone for your help, and I must say my gf was a big help too. This has been a pain now I have one down and 12 to go wish me luck lol. THANK YOU

From the posts over time, once you get the onboard NIC working, it'll be fine.
