Have a refurb hp 5700 sff. It came with windows 7 installed. Worked just fine. I created an extended partition to run Linux Mint. All OK.
THEN I decided to install windows 10 instead of 7. All still OK.
Decided I didn't like win10 so I tried to reinstall win7 (with a dvd I previously created and used on another PC). It loads and at "Starting Windows" screen TURNS OFF and all activity indicator lights stop.
I erased the partition that had win10. Same. Put win10 install disc in and it began installation OK. Put the win7 disc in and the same thing happened as before.
Tried using a usb. Same result.
What to do? What to do?
Oh! Bios at "Default" through ALL of the above
