Hey folks,
This is my first post on Tom’s so here goes...

I'm doing a fresh install of Windows 7 on a friends Toshiba Satellite Pro C850-1M7 (PSCBXE) laptop but have been stumped by the wireless network driver installation. I’ve done plenty of installations in the past without problems but can’t help think I might be missing something here.

I’ve installed Windows 7 32bit and attempted to install the drivers direct from the Toshiba website. The problem is the driver just doesn’t want to install.
I run the Toshiba driver .exe which opens Archive Extractor for the Intel Wireless LAN Driver 15.0.1.1.0.s32_wCAT, I then click ‘start’ and it seems to extract with a Windows User Account Control box asking if I want to make changes for the Intel Wireless LAN Driver. I click yes expecting the windows installer to pop up and commence installation but nothing.
What I’ve tried:
1) Running in administrator
2) Running .exe from root folder
3) Same problem on windows 64bit (with 64bit drivers)
4) Thought it may be something in the BIOS, found nothing obvious
5) The other 2 WLAN drivers from Toshiba website (Realtek & Atheros) no luck either
6) Wireless indication LED on

Device manager still shows no Ethernet or Network controller and task bar showing no connections available.

Any ideas would be appreciated before the lappy is broken up for spares or takes a holiday out the window :)

Thanks Noriel, I tried that without much luck.
The drivers went through the install process but connections are still not available with network controller drivers still showing uninstalled in device manager. I noticed the WLAN AutoConfig was set to manual in 'Services' which have now been changed to auto, I also tried a direct wired connection from my Router with no joy.

Clutching at straws here...
