Windows 7 wont install

I have a GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P motherboard. I just made a new PC and went to install a brand new windows 7 disc bought from newegg.com. when i select the DVD ROM with the disc in it to boot from, it says "reboot and select a proper boot device or insert boot media into selected device." I thought the DVD might be the problem so i downloaded a copy of Windows 7 from the Microsoft servers. When i booted from it, i got the same message. HELP PLEASE
