Windows 7 no longer loads up on my pc. When power is turned on, the computer boots up, but once the windows 7 logo screen is finished, there is just a black screen with a mouse pointer either frozen or unfrozen. The computer initially froze while a game was loaded up, but idle. When I returned to the pc, the screen was frozen, and seemed to have some type of graphics glitch, symmetrical frozen pattern on the screen. When i rebooted, the computer would load up as normal, but would freeze whenever I attempted to log in. I went into safe mode, and went to a restore point. When the computer booted back up from that, it wouldn't even make it to the windows log in screen. Just a black screen with the mouth pointer, and safe mode would no longer boot up either, it would do the same black screen. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My system specs are Windows 7 Professional, Asus M4A88TD-V EVO USB3 mother board, AMD Phenom 965 CPU, Corsair AX 750 PSU, 8gb Kingston Hyper X Grey Ram, WD Caviar Black 1TB Hard Drive, xfx 6950 1gb GPU.

How would I go about doing that? and would that cause me to lose what is on my hard drive as far as files and games? I have tried hitting F8 and loading from the Windows 7 disc. It gets to the safe mode menu, but after I make my choice it goes to the same black screen with the mouse pointer.

Yes you will, that's why you create a back up first. Use the windows disc to reinstall windows 7.

EDIT: This should help out http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-reinstall-windows-7-easily-step-by-step-guide/

I can't even access windows though, wouldn't I need to be able to load windows up to reinstall as instructed at that link?
