windows 7 won't update drivers

hello,
I hope I can get help on this forum. I have been trying a lot of things read on the internet but nothing works
my printer, my camera and my CDROM driver all show a warning triangle. the printer has an error 28, the other 2 have an error 31. I can't update the drivers, neither automatically or manually on the manufacturer's website. I can't even uninstall or re-install the printer's software
I've tried the troubleshooting stuff: useless
I've tried a system restore: didn't work, for some reason
I've tried to do all that in safe mode: didn't work
The cdrom driver used to show in device manager, but not anymore...
I just don't know what to do anymore
please help!

Did you just install Windows? What one? How - by CD or USB? Was it a legal copy?

no I've had all my system for the last few years now and never had any problem. except my camera, it's new.
they're all legal copies

Do a Windows re-install

The errors are just driver errors

for this I need to back-up everything I have right? It will delete everything?

Yep - copy data. You'll have to re-install apps.
