Solution

Good to hear that the problem is solved! I have 5 Dell mice (all Logitech) and they are on XP and Vista computers. In all cases, the OS took care of downloading the drivers.

Then I have two Logitech MX518...
Thanks Ubrales, I had tried that route several times, apparently the mouse is sold under Dell logo and made by Logitech for Dell, the problem with that is neither provides support for the mouse (each manufacturer not wanting to provide support for the mouse, VERY IRRITATING) so I found a solution (finally) thru BlueSoliel at http://www.bluesoleil.com/products/ProductCatalog.aspx?type=soft&id=1. Its a free download if you agree to download a free product (in my case 7-Zip). My mouse now works like a charm.
Thanks again,
J2J

Then I have two Logitech MX518 mice; one on Vista and one on Win 7. For these, I used the driver CD that Logitech provided. Works fine. I like the MX518!
