Windows 8.1 activation help

If I have the trial for windows 8.1 standard on a PC that was freshly built with no previous OS can I use an 8.1 standard OEM key to activate the trial version.

If you purchased an OEM key for that machine that has the same license level ("home", Pro, etc), you should be able to change it by right clicking in the start icon and going to system. At the very bottom you'll have an option to change the key.
