Hello,

After playing New Vegas today, my laptop froze up and I had to do a manual (forced) shut down. Upon rebooting, the computer was stuck on the Lenovo screen and would not progress. Eventually, after fiddling with F12 on boot up, I got the error

0xc000000e

windows failed to start \boot\bcd

Unfortunately, I do not have a recovery disk (apparently it only shipped with a backup partition)/usb. Are there any ways to repair this issue? If not, is there any way to get data off the drive? Thanks.

I have a Lenovo G580, upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1.

Update: I did manage to log in eventually (no idea how), but everything is working extremely slowly. Attempting to backup what I can but would still appreciate any insights on fixing the problem.

Further update: When attempting to transfer some files off of the computer, I received a BSOD with

"KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR" as the message.

Attempting to reboot has yielded a further

0xc0000001 error message.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
