Windows 8.1 boots to blue screen with cursor after installing something

Hey,I just built a system and installed windows 8.1. it boots normally but after i install something (drivers, updates, etc.) the pc just boots to a blue screen with cursor. I've tried to repair the os but an error occurs all the time. I cannot find a fix, please
Specs:
Asus h97-plus
Gtx 970 strix 4gb
8gb (2x4gb) 1600mhz
corsair 600w m

May want to reinstall Win and make sure you have the latest BIOS first. ONce installed get the latest mobo drivers from the mobo website. Then install Win updates 5-6 at a time - there are some updates that have been problematic for many, this can help narrow it down
