Just installed my copy of Windows 8.1, and this watermark is stuck in the corner, even though I ran windows update a ton...
Notice, it gives me no clues
Secure update is enabled in my Asus Z97 Pro's bios, and this is the ONLY thing the watermark shows

Windows 8.1
Build 9600

I let a program boot into Safe Mode automatically for it once, and safe mode usually displays this right? Could that be a cause?
I also checked my activated windows settings, and it says another computer is already using my code (I have another installationb of windows on this disk)

If I logout of that PC or delete it's installation, will it also solve this issue?)
Weird, causee I've used this product key several times on many other HDD's, but they all had different windows accounts... Maybe that's it?

I need some help here

that means that you did not activate windows 8 yet.

EDIT: I didn't see you already did activate windows or at least tried.

Is yours a OEM version? Because you can only run windows on multiple computers by the retail version. OEM doesn't allow you to do that.

Yes, it is a legit copy, 8.1 standard, didn't come with the PC or anything, I bought it from Newegg, disc copy..
I've reinstalled windows before, and even on a separate HDD, and the watermark was never on that PC

Is there a way I can tell windows that it no longer is on this PC anymore, and that I can now use my unlock on this install? I've reinstalled before and windows never asked for activation.
How can I do this? Will signing out/Deleting my old windows install let me activate it on my current install
(I need to salvage data off it still, but I will eventually need to delete it)
What is my best course of action here so Windows doesn't bug out on me and lock me from my OEM installtion limit. (should be able to reinstall numerous times, as long as its on only 1 pc at a time right?)

This is the first time I'm using a new otherboard thopugh, could that be why it says this? How can I get my 1 PC limit back so this is the Windows 8.1 installation I have activated?

1 PC at a time.
Remove from all other installs. As in format those drives
Attempt the activation process.
If it fails, it should give you a number to call to activate over the phone.
If that fails, call and talk to a human at MS.
If they say no....oh well.

1 license, 1 PC at a time.

Ugh... all right, I'll return if I can't figure something out. Might have to register my verison as a "system builder" version through microsoft's site or something.
