Windows 8.1 compatibility update problem

8.0 to 8.1 update stops with a problem NERO-burning Rom, I do not have NERO BURNING ROM INSTALLED. BeLarc Advisor says there is a Nero 10 and 11 software License. I assume it's on the registry, left over from Windows 7. Could this be a cause since I have no Nero folders or files that I know of on the system?

Problem solved. It took 4 people Tier 1 and Tier 2 in Microsoft support 12 hours by quaranteening a register entry and not removing it, so it didn't funtion. They never found anything that had to do with NERO

Did you have Nero on Win. 7? You may look in the registry, Go to Run, search for Regedit and look under software.

Brave soul. I can not get Windows 8.1 back to 8.0 as it crashed my USB drivers. Make sure you have good back up, create restore pointt manually. Make sure you have your Win 8.0 media available. There is a lot of struggle posted on Microsoft web site about this update.
