windows 8.1 deselects at random

Am running win 8.1. The problem I am having is that no matter what program or document I am using/running, windows will randomly deselect the active window and I have to click the window just to keep doing what I was doing. It happens at random times, under the task manager, nothing shows when it occurs. It even affects the task manager window when that is the only thing open. Thought it was adware, downloaded spybot s/d, ran it and it cleared the problem for a day or so.
Just typing this, it occurred 6 times.

Sounds like some software you have is causing it, perhaps putting up a screenshot of your taskmanager's details tab will help

Really sounds like a virus. Download avast free and scan your pc.
