The Enterprise or Pro may even be a touch slower than regular 8.1, due to extra features running that you do not need. But any difference would be tiny.
They all run on the same base, just different features installed or not installed.

Volume licence keys cannot be transferred to computers that do not belong to the organization. Ergo, even if you got the key for free, it would most likely be a violation of the terms of service to use it on a home computer. You should double check with your workplace's system administrator first.
At one time organisations with Enterprise Office Licence could via Digital River supply Office Enterprise to their employees for home use with (I have 2007 & 2010)
You had a choice of CD or download and had to pay an administration fee which depended on whether you got a key by email and download or received a proper hologramed office CD in case marked 'Home Use Program'
Other organisations were supplying Office Pro under a similar scheme
