Windows 8.1 File Explorer not appearing

So I've had this issue twice where I can't actually see the file explorer open whether I try to open any folders on the desktop or taskbar it just doesn't work.

The Issues
-It says file explorer is open in the task bar but it isn't on the screen
-file explorer doesn't appear in task manager
-right clicking the file explorer icon and trying to open there doesn't work
-right clicking file explorer on the taskbar and opening properties shows nothing out of the ordinary
-going into update and recovery to refresh my PC solves the issue for about a day but then the issue comes back
-there is no error message pop up box
-McAfee can't find any viruses
-When using sfc scan it states that "it found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"

I really need help with this one because I can't access any of my college work for my computing course at home

It should definitely be a trouble with a virus. Please use the following virus scanner and clean you pc. Then it'll be fine.

I've done that and removed 105 potentially unwanted programs from the PC. I restarted the PC as well and still that doesn't work

Update: I don't know how but for some reason my PC was picking up a second monitor (I only have the one connected) and somehow the file explorer was opening on that one instead of the monitor I'm using now.

Try the below link. Maybe using the following method to switch your default monitor to the other and setting it back to your default monitor might help you with that. Are you using any third party software to use your iGPU with your Separate GPU?

I sorted it out now. I just switched my actual monitor to default. But thanks for trying to help :3
