Hello, I just built a new computer with a GTX 780 lightning and whenever I play a game for a short period of time my computer freezes and makes a loud buzzing sound, and than shuts off, what is this and how do i solve it?

Specs:
i5 4670k (stock speeds)
ASrock extreme3 z87
MSI GTX 780 Lightning
G. Skill trident X 16GB
Noctua NH-d14
2 TB WD black
250 GB Samsung 840 Evo

It shuts off and than restarts, no error message just that sound, freeze and the PC restarts, and as an example just loaded up bf4 for about 5 min and it happened, when the pc restarted I checked kombuster right away and the temp was only 53 degress, this is really worrying me

There are many things that can cause this, but its most likely to be a software issue rather than a hardware issue.

I think the loud buzz sound is not electrical buzz but actually a sound loop of what was playing before the computer froze. This usually occurs when your video card crashes and tries to recover.
It is probably a driver error so you should update or reinstall the video driver.

Also download who crashed its a free program and will help to identify the cause of your crashing.

How do I repair the drivers? or check if their is anything wrong with them? And this is the analysis from WhoCrashed. Can you help me solve these problems?

Conclusion
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. A third party driver has been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 337.88 , NVIDIA Corporation)

If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination the errors that have been reported for these drivers and include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query. This often yields interesting results from discussions from users who have been experiencing similar problems.

Read the topic general suggestions for troubleshooting system crashes for more information.

Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is actually responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further.

best way to do it is to uninstall them complely then restart your pc then run a program called driver fusion it will remove anything like registry entries of the old driver, then download the latest driver from the nvidia site and install it.

How do i go about re-installing all these drivers without loosing any of my files, also i think it is important that the night that I finished building the PC I attempted an insane and incredibly stupid overclock on the video card where I increase the memory clock by 4000mhz, however that computer immateriality shut off the minute that i moved the slider, still how do I re-install all of these drivers?

oooh. you're crashing in watchdogs?

haha... yeah... that might have nothing to do with your graphic drivers and just yet another bethesda glitch fest. Still i'd reinstall the drivers just to be certain it's not you, but the game.

once you uninstall all nvidia software, go here after the reboot.
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us

install the drivers it suggests. it will install everything you removed.

I do not own watchdogs, I crash in every single game I play after about 5-15 min, I have uninstalled the device and drivers from device manager, how do I repair the Microsoft drivers? Nvidia smart scan doesn't work, it simply keeps requesting the latest version of java which I have.

lets make sure you're not overheating anything. lets take that straight out of the equation. pop the side of your case off and stick a room fan into the opening on high, if you stop crashing it's a heat issue. and we can help you iron out what's going on.

if the crashing still happens at least we know the most common PHYSICAL cause of this type of problem isn't happening.

the second most likely physical issue is electrical. but we'll tackle that once we know temps aren't the problem.
