Windows 8.1 Freezing after logging in

So I just finished building a new rig. However, something is wrong with it and I cant seem to figure out what it is. After cold booting the computer i get to the log in screen and everything is working as it should there. However, after i login, my CPU goes haywire(temp goes up and fans start to spin) and Windows freezes, sort of.

The mouse is basically invisible but when i right click the context menu tries to display but it remains in a semi transparent state. If I enter the windows Key, I get taken to the App screen but once there, i cant do anything except restart. Once I restart, everything is ok.

I've already tried a handful of solutions but none of them work. The event log isnt showing squat except for the ReadyBoot failing because the log ran out of memory. Ive already increased the size of it from 20MB to 120MB and its still running out. Not sure if that is the problem. Im fairly certain i have the latest drivers for all my hardware. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

make sure the mb bios has the newest bios file. in the bios turn on xmp profile for the ram. if the mb has onboard video use it and install newest intel chipset and mei drivers. then see if the system locking up. if it does try another power supply to see if the one you have is not holding up the 12v rail.

Well i already updated the bios and it seems to be the most up to date version. XMP is currently enabled for my ram as well. Im fairly certain I have the latest intel chipset and mei drivers, is there a tool i can use to figure out which driver is incompatible with my computer? As far as the psu is concerned, what should I be looking for to determine whether it can support the 12v rail?
