I have been trying to set up a new ssd as my OS drive but I have run into some problems with installing Nvidia drivers. Whether they are installed automatically via windows or manually installed using geforce experience my desktop ends up looking over sized and pixalated:

All program and explorer windows are also very large and pixalated

It returns to normal when I uninstall the nvidia driver and it reverts back to the basic windows display driver as you can see here:

I have checked it is always on the native resolution (1080p) when trying nvidia drivers

I have everything running fine on my main hdd so I am really stumped as to why it is doing this any help will be appreciated

Specs

i7 3770
gigibyte h77m
16gb ram
gtx780ti
samsung 840evo 250gb (new os drive)
2tb sshd
fsp arium 650w gold

after installing the drivers did you right click an empty spot on desktop and open up nvidia control panel?
There you would set your desktop resolution , and other settings

Also I recommend uplugging your pc from internet after installing the card so that it dose not automaticaly d/l drivers .
From here I would go to nvidia website and dl the latest drivers here, http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Then go to control panel and uninstall the drivers if they where automaticaly installed by windows and install the one you downloaded.
restart pc and you should be able to chage resolution through nvidia control panel

Yes I checked in windows resolution options and nvidia control panel that resolution was 1080p when I was having the display problems. I used DDU to uninstall the automatically installed nvidia driver and then installed the latest via geforce experiance with the same result. I guess could try just installing the latest driver without the Geforce experience program. Cheers

So I have downloaded and installed the latest nvidia drivers again but nothing changed, here is a pic showing all the settings resolution settings ect

Might be a bad hdmi cable , I am a little stumped . Try connecting with a dvi instead ? You are connected to the back of the video card and not the motherboard , I know that might be a stupid question . but this is odd , your resolution dose not look like what it shows in control panel .. Im not 100% sure but I think hdmi is so you can connect your gpu to a larger flat pannel tv and not a pc monitor ,, but I could be wrong .. I would try a dvi cable and report back , Im almost certain that hdmi is for a high def tv and not for a monitor , but thats just a guess. I have always used vga and dvi for my pc monitor

The thing is everything works perfectly on my primary hard drive which is using the same hdmi cable, and my monitor is a tv so I don't think it has dvi.

Oh well thanks for the input I think I will return the ssd and just stick to using my main drive
