Windows 8.1 is freezing quite often, generally acting weird..

For no apparent reason windows 8.1 (PRO 64-BIT) nowadays decides to:
-boot with with no icons in the taskbars
-And no desktop icons
-No network cababilities
-But all apps are accessible if i search for it, or press start
-The above problems solve themselves after 1-2 mins

-Windows takes longer than normal to boot
-Also windows and various programs freeze for maybe 30 seconds for now apparent reason and at random times
-sfc /scannow stops at 58% and then says Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation
-event viewer when opened, says waiting for snap-ins to complete and then says one or more snap-ins are not responding (basically doesn't work properly)
-start-up repair doesn't work and gives an error during the process

Sounds like you're having hard drive issues. Your read speeds definitely seem slower than normal (if you have noticed a long boot up time and a long wait for your desktop to be "populated")

Please post your PC specs and we'll be able to help you further.

may help try boot in safe mode by hitting F8,see if it loads faster icons on the desktop and may check for Windows updates.

This may not be related, but I recently had an SSD brick on me because of a faulty controller. Before it bricked, it was showing similar symptoms. The faulty controller could have been corrected by a firmware update.

1) How full is your SSD? If it's getting over 70%, consider moving files to your HDD.
2) Update your SSD firmware.

1) I assume you meant move to hdd? anyawys I was nearing 70% so imoved some stuff to hdd
2) Just updated the firmware and it seems to have fixed the 'no icons' and slow boot, so thanks alot for the tip

Awesome! Hopefully the firmware update fixes your problem.

You also will not want to fill the SSD up past ~70%. It just starts to decrease the performance of the drive. Here's a great resource for getting the most out of your SSD.
