Hi everybody I recently upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1.When I play games(ALL GAMES)there is a frequent fps drops I cannot play the game with at least 30 fps constant. In windows 8 there wasn't any issues.I tried completely removing the games as well as drivers and reinstalling them. Please HELP!!!!!!!

My Specs
AMD A8-4500M
AMD 7640G+7670M Dual Graphics (2.5 GB)
4GB RAM
500 GB HARDDISK
Windows 8.1

Solution
Ok, do this.
Remove all your graphics driver from device manager, reboot your system and reinstall the drivers.
Oh btw, what temps does your laptop reach while playing. And is the lag you have making the game unplayable.
Since your games run but lag, the only cause would be a bad driver from when you installed Windows 8.1. Try a clean install of it and run again. If you do not wish to do, call up Microsoft, some people have issues with mouse lag in windows 8.1, but I personally use it and haven't encountered any problems.
Update Windows and then try, Windows 8.1 still has few compatibility issues, so try playing the games in compatibilty mode (Right Click on .exe file -->Properties -->Compatibilty Tab).
And get the latest Drivers for your Video card. And since your running Dual graphics , try setting it up properly in the Catalyst suite for AMD graphics. Hope it helps.

Hi thanks for your quick reply I tired whatever you said I put compatibility to all versions and checked no improvements and I updated my drivers from HP to the latest version no luck.:??:

Try Updating the graphics from the AMD website, and while you are at it, try playing the games by removing your laptop battery and playing from the mains. It may be that your fps drop is due to some setting trying to save power.

I tried from AMD website. The catalyst version is 14.4 still no luck....I surveyed my problem to AMD also.....I din't have this kind of problem in Windows 8.....Please any more suggestion...

Yeah thanks dude I did get some fps improvements. My temps are 60-80 C while heavy gaming.I found the solution it was my Wi-Fi drivers which was the cause for the problems.HP don't have the correct drivers for it.So I went to the windows update and updated the drivers from it.Now no lag issues getting around 40-60 fps in it
