Windows 8.1 Live Tiles Not Working....Help Please

I am running windows 8.1 and around 3 days ago my windows live tiles just turned plain...now no update is shown on them not even the icon of the live tiles just plane....the apps work on opening them.please help

i already did that but the tiles are jst blank

do you have pending updates waiting to be installed from windows update?

you can check this in the shut down icon for an option "update and restart"

nopes...all updates are installed and there are non pending

this is odd then,

since your not experiencing other issues but just the static live tiles, then the only fault we can blame is windows update.

can you go to the windows store, and check if it will update itself.

no there are no updates in the store too...1 more thing the store apps' tiles have not turned blank...just the weather,stock,health,sports and news app tiles...even the store tile is working

for what i can find in my computer, there's very limited settings for live tiles...

for some reason other people are also having the same issues, but for comparison we all installed the same updates.

yeah its the same as mentioned in the other threads,

download something from the windows apps store, something that refreshes itself a lot,
like a weather app. then pin it to the metro view.

what do you have as an antivirus?
windows security or something else.

nopes just windows defender

try this, change your screen resolution to 1024x768
then run windows 8 app troubleshooter, choose repair.
then unpin the apps, then pin them again
then restart.
after, check and restore your previous resolution

its a ghetto fix that worked for someone on the thread.
