Hello guys,
I have a Windows 8.1 computer, and this issue came up like a month or two ago.
The problem is, my mouse and/or keyboard (usually both simultaneously) start to be unresponsive. Any other USB devices connected to my computer work without error (and any program or device that is working at that time other than the mouse/keyboard), and any other mouse or keyboard attached to my computer via USB won't also work (tried it once with another mouse when mine stopped working). Forcing a shutdown always resolves the problem, but I don't like to do it because it may damage my computer or files, and if (this problem is NOT limited to gaming though) I'm playing games I don't want to do that. Sometimes plugging the USB cables into other sockets will work for a short duration(let's say 15-30 minutes), but any of the USB ports of the computer always eventually stop working with the mouse/keyboard.
I've looked this up before and heard about UEFI controls in the BIOS menu, I have no such thing available on my computer.
Thanks in advance

Forgot to add, my computer model is Casper Nirvana CD.VTI3770X (Desktop)
Windows 8.1 x64, Intel Core i7-3770 (3.40 GHz), 8 GB RAM
Also found out that my computer IS in UEFI BIOS Mode, but couldn't find the option to disable it if needed (the BIOS Version is American Megatrends 4.6.5 12/7/2012 - couldn't find an update to my BIOS by the manufacturer)
Also, rapidly shaking my cursor if it is starting to be unresponsive occasionally solves the problem for both the mouse and the keyboard
