So I've been researching this problem for a few days now. It all started when I updated my NVidia graphics card. My computer suddenly shut off and only a few things happen each time I turn on and off or restart it.
I get the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen only to have it continually fail. I'm then sent to the Blue Troubleshooting menu and I've tried every option in there to no avail. I've did a lot of the command prompt solutions out there and those checks haven't found any problems with my disk.
A few times the computer does actually boot and I can log in like normal only to have the PC shut down after a few minutes with the CPU fan getting really loud as if it's overheating. I just cleaned and dusted my computer a few weeks ago and my room is relatively cool so I doubt overheating is an issue. I also don't think it's hard drive failure as I just built this PC less than a year ago and am running off of a SSD.
I also can no longer enter Safe Mode or enter the BIOS despite being presented with the option to.
I have a copy of Windows 8.1 on a USB but can't find a way to tell the computer to boot from that instead so I can attempt to "Repair the Computer" on the installation menu without having to completely wipe my drives and do a clean install.
I appreciate any insight and help in this matter. This problem has become rather irratating.
Thank you,
-Mark
