Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit max screen resolution locked at 1600x1200 with r9 270

Hi, so recently I made my new pc and windows is having some form of trouble with the displays.
The GPU itself is not the problem (it shouldn't be at-least) and my monitor is 24" 1080p LED Display.

Any idea what the issue is? I tried searching around for some drivers for my display and couldn't find anything.

I am currently using the latest display drivers from AMD and my resolution is still stuck at 1600x1200.
I am using a monitor that ONLY accepts VGA, and HDMI and I am using a DVI to VGA adapter to connect from my pc to my monitor.

I found my own fix to the issue. I looked around in AMD Catalyst Control Center and found some options for VGA that were disabled. I simply enabled them and the resolution was able to go above 1600x1200 to my monitors native.

Would you be willing to list the settings that you changed to get it to work?

Open up AMD catalyst control center, go into 'My VGA Displays' -> 'Properties' -> Now un-check 'Use Extended .. blah ..' and select your resolution through the control center.

One problem how ever.. that will ONLY work for when you're at the desktop.. In games the max resolution will be 16:10 1600x1200 and the max in Control Panel will be 1600x1200.

At the moment, it's a ghetto fix. Still searching.

Update: Found a full fix! Open up the AMD control center, go into 'My VGA Displays' -> 'Image Scaling' -> un-check 'Enable GPU scaling'. Good luck!
