I've seen windows 8.1 pro student and I'm wondering if I can get it 64 bit as the original is, no upgrade, for my planned system build. I'm not a student but my sister is, so I was wondering if I can use that, and how I can prove it online to get it. Also wondering if pro student 64 bit is equivalent to normal windows 8.1, and won't be worse or anything, thanks for any replies

Yes. No worries about an illicit buy, and your sister gets to buy one for herself if wanted. You can only do that so many times per student ID.

1) It is EITHER Pro OR Student there is no such thing as 'PRO STUDENT', and that is usually designated for Microsoft OFFICE editions (Pro verses STUDENT editions).
2) You may be meaning Windows 8.1 Pro *FOR* Students http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Windows-8.1-Pro-for-Students/productID.288769600 I am guessing correct? THIS IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS (note bottom ToS: This student-only discount requires verification of student status prior to purchase. ) which means ONLY your Sister can get it and use it.
3) a simple additional GOOGLE of 'Windows 8.1 Editions' would bring you http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/enterprise/products-and-technologies/windows-8-1/compare/default.aspx to show you the differences the Pro edition has over 'Normal' edition.

Yh sorry it is pro for student, for the UK site for Microsoft it's called pro student. Can't I get it using my sisters student stuff anyway though, since she's willing to let me use it, or is there something wrong with that?

If she installed it onto a computer, set it up, activated it, etc. in the UK, then handed you the computer to use in the UK, not that I am aware of. If you / she are outside of the country of purchase then yes the software determines location and doesn't allow that to install (due to International Software / Shipment regulations and TAXation laws) / be used (for example purchased UK Windows attempted to install on a US Dell computer in Thailand would cause the red flags to go off on the computer / software as this is normally obvious 'piracy').

The problem lays that if ANYTHING with Windows occurs (needs to check her student ID, validation of install, etc.) and she is not around to 'deal' with it, your hosed up. Physically the user 'at the keyboard' isn't the issue, it is just to ensure only legitimate purchasers are being given these deep discounted software.

I'd probably do the installation, but only because my sister would have no clue, I'm buying it in the UK and using it there as well. With the issue you said about Id and verification, what would that detail exactly, because I'm fairly confident my sister would let me use her Id and how will it check the id, is there just a number to enter because she would just give me the number

Probably an email to the .edu address.

it would involve her school ID, her ID for her school itself (to differentiate her from other students attending), then receipt of the email via (as USAFRet mentioned) a legitimate EDU email address. The first steps ensures THAT school is part of the program, and SHE actually is a student, the last step facilitates the sending of the instructions, links, and 'key' for the OS. The steps I was talking about is when you load the OS onto the computer and it 'reaches out' to the hardware / attempts activation it determines it has crossed international boundary limitations (as I mentioned UK copy of Windows installed on a US made/sold computer while you are living in Thailand with Thailand ISP connection trying to activate the key).
