I use my computer every day, i recently checked my reliability history, and i have a message for every day that says " Windows was not properly shut down". I did some research. Im running Windows 8.1, my research tells me that i should disable Fast boot, in other words.. Fast start up... is this correct? and is it bad to disable fast boot? Note: I have custom built PC.

I shut down the computer regularly from the start menu.... and i have no other error messages.

Then I wouldn't stress it. You can use CC Cleaner to check your registry and correct any errors, just save it before you make any changes to be safe perhaps set a restore point 1st.
