Windows 8.1 reliability

I checked my reliability monitor today and it reports two unexpected shutdowns, a load of crashes and a failed Microsoft Office re imaging. The build is two or three days old and apart from one emergency shutdown where my CPU cooling fan wasn't hooked up I don't recall seeing any of the other stuff happen, it's been smooth as you like. So, where's reliability monitor getting this stuff?

Am I not shutting it down correctly? Going to bottom right>settings>power>shutdown and a few seconds later it's off

I have the same type of messages in mine , ignore them your computer is fine.

And also how do I get Chrome to register my new build is also synced. Chrome on my build registers it's synced, I haven't checked my laptop or iPod yet to see if they register. Android chrome doesn't

Apparently it thinks it's the most unreliable thing ever even though it's the exact opposite. Says Windows Update failed last night, when it did not. No error codes given when I installed. It installed, rebooted and that was that

So, do you know why I get not properly shutdown messages in reliability monitor? The case lights sort of flash and then power off on shutdown, only once have they faded out. Is this just Windows 8's problem and not mine?

Computer runs perfect though, unlike what reliability monitor says. It says programs have crashed when I can quite clearly still use them at the time it said they'd crashed (I just won't be using them at that time, so they'll be idle in the background)
