Hey,

I downgraded my notebook from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1, because I had hardware issues with Windows 10. I did the downgrade via the settings menu, and afterwards I refreshed Windows 8.1.

Everything went great until the updates from yesterday. My notebook suffers from the repair loop. I have had this before, and I managed to fix it back then. However, this time I can't access cmd or system recovery. When I boot, I get that blue Windows 8.1 recovery window. I then click on advanced settings and want to enter either cmd, or recovery. However, the notebook says I need my password. I don't understand this, I have never had a password on this pc and it was bought 4 months ago (brand new).

So I can't fix it in this way. However, there is another solution according to a post on the Microsoft forums. It says that you have to enter bios and change the boot priority. You should make the c drive priority number 1 and the Windows boot manager option 2, unfortunately I can't see my c drive. I have the option to create a new path, but I don't now how to do that.

I also can't start into safe mode, or disable the automatic restart after system error.

Does anyone now how I can fix the password issue? I think I can manage the other issues myself, if I get that fixed.

Sorry for my English, I typed this very fast on my mobile. I need the notebook really bad, it's for university!

Thank you for all your help :)

Solution
Have you tried leaving it in repair loop for over half an hour , sometimes that solves the problem too.
You may have used a password during windows 10 installation , since it asks for a microsoft account somewhere , try to feed your online mail id passwords .
Else you may have to reinstall windows .
