Hey guys, so recently I found a problem with my PC which is running Windows 8.1. The problem is that when I right click (sometimes) it causes the Desktop to become unresponsive. Like the Windows loading cursor just keeps on spinning and nothing happens. Nor can I open anything on the Desktop. Everything else responds fine. The problem sometimes occur right after startup or sometimes late while using.

Could be in order of probability:
- Buggy shell extension.
Disable the non microsoft shell extensions one by one until you found the culprit.
Use autoruns, explorer tab and look for non microsoft signed ContextMenuHandlers
- Virus.

- HDD failure or disk corruption.
Check the system eventlog for errors
