Windows 8.1 scanning and repairing drive C loop

Hey, I really dont know that much about computers but I came across this error and I really really do not want to lose any of my files and or programs/apps. When i start up my pc it says: Scanning and repairing drive C, it goes up to 53% and than springs up to 100%, than it restarts and does the exact same every time...

You can cancel it by pressing the SPACE key right before it starts. Spam it if you need to.

Yes i know that, but when I do that it goes to desc check instantly.

If you can get to Command Prompt type:

chkntfs C:
This will show if disk check is scheduled for drive C or not.

If its not scheduled it will show "C: is not dirty".

If it is scheduled it will show "chkdsk has been scheduled..."

To cancel it type:

chkntfs /x c:

Ok. Now shutdown your PC. Then turn on. Do you still get "scanning and repairing..."?

If i buy a cable will i be able to get my files from it to another disk and reinstall windows?

If you can get into Windows then yes. You can buy an external harddrive or USB drive and move files over to a new PC.

If you have the Windows 8.1 Installation Media you can access Advanced Startup Options

In Advanced Startup Options you can do numerous things. One of them that I suggest you try again is chkntfs /x c:
To do that go to TroubleShoot>Advanced options>Command Prompt. Then run that command again. Then restart.

If that does not work, retry and go into Advanced options again and you will also see System Restore. System Restore will allow you to load up an older version of your PC. If this works you will have loaded an older version of your files. So if it restores to last week then you will have all your work up to last week.

It's not great but it might allow you to get into your PC.

Also note that to run the Installation Media you will need to change the boot priority order in the BIOS so that the media is first to boot.

If you don't want to try that then you can reinstall Windows anytime but you will lose your files and everything else. I suggest you fix the "scanning and repairing..." first before you try any of that.
